Today I would like to share a fairy-tale with you guys. I was telling this story on the Design breakfast this Saturday and it seemed to inspire the folks who came and listened to me. Also it is a good way to tell you who is Taty Vovchek (in case you do not know much about me) in unusual way – lets imagine I am heroine behind this fairy-tale. So, let the story begin, grab a cup of something warm to read along👌🏻✨

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Once there lived a girl – just like any other.

.

She obeyed her parents, did her homework and got excellent marks. She was a smart girl and it was not hard for her to learn. The girl was especially good in learning foreign languages, maths, design and writing.

.

Do you like watching movies about love? The ones where the main female character is super successful and has fun pursuing her career and in the end meets the right guy? Well, that girl dreamed of that! Who does not like Bridget Jones? Who would not like to be a passionate writer as Kerry Bradshaw, or have a job like Kate from “Kate&Leo”, or the life of a heroine at “Eat Pray Love” movie?

.

How careful should we all be in our childhood dreams because they can come true. And quicker than you think.

.

As the little girl became bigger she met the right guy at the right time and they had a fancy wedding. Later she found a great job. Now you can imagine the scene from “Devil wears Prada” when the main heroine knocks her heels and puts a makeup and fancy clothes every day, drinks a lot of coffee and sits on her desktop with serious face and then with the same serious face attends meetings with her boss. That was close to how the girl’s day looked like. And that was not fun at all. So the girl decided to quit that job and change her life completely.

.

So what happens next? Next comes Paris. And the birth of the baby girl. The everyday picture changed to another one that frenchmen would call “Metro Bulo Dodo” (which means getting to work – office life – and sleep). And after that picture another one came with the evening baby playing time. And before falling to sleep some tiny amount of time to spend with beloved husband.

.

That was not so fun at all. Maybe the problem was in the wrong country? Or in a job? And luckily the girl could switch to remote work on her french job and have time to thing about all that.

.

So what happens next? Next comes the big travelling time. Long flights from one continent to another. Different languages. Different cultures. And finding the home in Portugal. But sadly because of bureaucracy (and who are we kidding here – the lack of money as well) the family had to return back to the country they originally lived in.

.

It was a time to ask herself many questions. What did SHE want? What did she really like? What is her passion in life? What did she want her life to look like in 5 years? How would she like to be remembered by everyone? The answer popped in her head quickly. DRAW! You need to draw and make books for kids!

.

So what happens next? The girl does her first children’s book with a big passion and self-publishes it. And has a desire to write another one. The dream in her mind changes to the goal of becoming successful artist/illustrator/author of own books and live happily in sunny Portugal.

.

As it turned out it is not so important where you live and what is your day job. But having time to pursue the passion. The girl understood that her happiness is about doing every single day the things she really enjoyed having a supporting family aside.

✨✨✨✨✨✨

Does this sound familiar to you in some way?😉
